Jason suits up for Savile Row, Tom heads down the pub in Chelsea

Jason Atherton and Tom Kerridge, two of the most successful British chefs of the past decade, are planning to open new restaurants in London.

Jason’s Row on 5 is described as a “flagship” restaurant over two floors in a new building on Savile Row in Mayfair – just a short walk from Pollen Street Social, his flagship since it opened to widespread acclaim in 2011.

It will seat 36 diners on tables and a counter on the ground floor, with room for another 22 covers, a bar and an eight-seat private dining room in the basement. Jason currently has six restaurants in London and another eight around the world, including City Social Dubai which opened in February.

Meanwhile, Tom has taken over the former Queen’s Head in Tryon Street, Chelsea, a substantial 1840s pub off the King’s Road that has been closed since 2015 and was at one stage threatened with demolition.

Tom is based at the Hand & Flowers pub in Marlow, his long-time flagship venue, where he also runs two other food-based pubs. He also operates two concessions in London – at Harrods and within the Corinthia Hotel in Whitehall.

No opening dates have been announced for the new launches.
