“The food may be lacklustre but it’s adequate – we go for the warm and rich ambience, and the lovely garden”: a good summary of the appeal of this very popular Surrey branch of the upmarket Ivy brand. “Of course it lacks originality” but most reporters are forgive this and also the fact that it gets “noisy and busy”. Top Tip – “great place for brunch”.

2018 Review: “Whatever the occasion the Canbury is always a firm favourite”, whose “eclectic menu” is “of a quality that set it apart from the rest of Kingston’s pubs”. It’s so “hard to find independent and really affordable places like this”.
