Harden’s hosts sell-out dinner with Jason Atherton at Pollen Street Social

Three chefs, three Michelin-starred restaurants, three signature dishes – one incredible evening! Last night (Thursday 12 October) Harden’s hosted a sell-out dinner with internationally-acclaimed chef and restaurateur Jason Atherton and his Social Company empire at Mayfair’s Pollen Street Social.

For the first time ever the chefs at Atherton’s three Michelin-starred, London restaurants – Pollen Street Social, Social Eating House and City Social – cooked together to create a special five course menu of signature dishes, served with carefully matched wines, especially for Harden’s readers.

The evening started with a Nyetimber English sparkling wine and canapé reception, hosted by Atherton and Harden’s guide co-founder Peter Harden, and then guests were invited to take their seats to enjoy a stunning procession of dishes. On the menu:

Raw Orkney scallop, pickled kohlrabi, nashi pear, black olive and jalapeño granite

Roasted Cornish turbot, polonaise, apple and turnip in miso, cauliflower, mizuna leaf

Lake District lamb loin and braised shoulder hot pot, spiced tomato, mint sauce

Atherton (Pollen Street Social) created the starter, main course and petit fours for the five course dinner, with Paul Hood (Social Eating House) providing the fish course, and Paul Walsh (City Social) delivering the dessert. Guests could have their menus signed by all the chefs as a little memento of the evening.

The dinner was the second in a new series of events hosted by Harden’s at renowned restaurants across the country. Next up is a special evening with Glynn Purnell at Purnell’s in Birmingham on 1 November, when the chef will be recreating his winning dishes from the Great British Menu and celebrating 10 years in business.
