Mediterranean Restaurants in Bristol
1. Lido Mediterranean restaurant in Bristol Oakfield Place - BS8
“Stunning by night when lights twinkle on the water and swimmers glide by” – this “unique” Clifton venue occupies a Victorian Egyptian-style swimming pool whose viewing gallery is now an accomplished Spanish-North African restaurant run by ex-Moro chef Freddie Bird, with a “great tapas menu served downstairs” in the poolside bar. The outdoor heated pool is members-only, but diners can book a swim-and-eat package to work up an appetite before their meal.
2. Bravas Mediterranean restaurant in Bristol 7 Cotham Hill - BS6
“Lovely tapas” and a “buzzy” style win praise for Kieran and Imogen Waite’s “busy”, “cheap ‘n’ cheerful” tapas bar on Cotham Hill.
3. Bellita Middle Eastern restaurant in Bristol 34 Cotham Hill - BS6
The “cool” younger sister of beloved Bell’s Diner – and also nodding to North Africa and Spain – steps out of its sibling’s shadow with “absolutely brilliant” food and “great drinks” (perhaps the result of its unusual policy of only featuring women winemaker’s on its list). A refurb’ is on the cards, with Bellita set to feature on the Beeb’s ‘Project Interiors’, a kind of GBBO for designers due in spring 2019.
