How times have changed, in the roaring ’20s, Selfridge’s rooftop was home to the all-girl gun club, now it will host the Q Grill pop-up. From this Friday (23 May) until the end of September, former Caprice head honcho Des McDonald’s new American BBQ concept will serve up an all-day dining experience far above the madding crowds of Oxford Street.
It is all part of the department store’s series of events: ‘On The Roof with…’ which promises to deliver new and exciting eating experiences to shoppers every summer. This year it’s the turn of McDonald’s Q Grill, which opened its first outpost in Camden in April. (Read our editors review which doesn’t actually suggest the original is the most exciting experience.)
The menu at the 100-cover rooftop estabishment will be much the same as in Camden Town, with charcoal grilled meats and seafood, as well as brunch items like pancakes and eggs benedict. A range of desserts from Daisy Lowe’s new cookbook will also be available.
