Core blimey – Clare Smyth’s bistro for Chelsea

Clare Smyth has announced plans to open a “luxury bistro” in Chelsea this autumn called Corenucopia – a play on her Notting Hill flagship, Core.

The new venture will take over a site close to Sloane Square on Holbein Place, which was most recently occupied by Tabisco, a short-lived Italian steakhouse.

Clare already has another big project lined up in London – a restaurant inside the landmark Admiralty Arch, where she and New York-based Daniel Boulud will run the two headline dining rooms at a new Waldorf Astoria hotel due to open next year.

The Harden’s guide has rated Core as ‘London’s top gastronomic experience’ every year for the past five years. Northern Ireland-born Clare launched Core in 2017 after having established a reputation as Britain’s leading female chef while running Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Royal Hospital Road.

More details are expected to be released about Corenucopia ahead of its scheduled launch in November.
