Café Pistou, bringing Provençe to Clerkenwell

Gaucho certainly seems to be having a hand in shaping the restaurateurs of the future. Last week we reported that the steak chain’s former chief exec, Martin Williams, would launch the first of his M Restaurants in the City on 12 November, and now ex Gaucho finance director, Charlie McClean is set to open an all-day dining affair in Exmouth Market.

Café Pistou, a 95-cover restaurant Provençal restaurant, will open later this month on a former Strada site at the entrance to the market. It has apparently been designed to feel like a members’ club and will have 40-covers outside. The menu was created by co-founder of Café Pistou and former head of Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saison’s cookery school, Alex Mackay.
