Pizza Restaurants in Shoreditch
1. Radio Alice
Pizza restaurant in
16 Hoxton Square - N1
Our mission: make delicious pizza, served with care, in beautiful spaces. In the beginning we were just Matteo and Salvatore, two brothers from Calabria. We moved to Bologna to study economics, and – like all penniless students – ate a lot of...
2. Gloria
Italian restaurant in Hackney
54-56 Great Eastern Street - EC2A
“Slightly mad” but irresistible – “I’ve not known anyone leave unhappy”, squeal fans of Paris-based Big Mamma Group’s original London site, which is a “fun and partyish” slice of OTT, retro Italian pastiche on a Shoreditch corner-site filled with plants and nostalgic Amalfi-coast-inspired bric-a-brac. The rich food from a large, traditional Italian menu – with plenty of pizza and pasta alongside grills and salads – isn’t at all ‘foodie’ but is certainly filling and good value.
3. Homeslice by Symplicity
Pizza restaurant in Shoreditch
374-378 Old Street - EC1
“Fantastic pizza that’s good value” continues to win praise for Alan & Mark Wogan’s (the sons of the late Sir Terry) three-strong chain in Neal’s Yard (the original), Marylebone and the City. The 20-inch pizzas are enough to feed 2-3 people and flavours can be split 50/50.
4. Pizza Pilgrims
Pizza restaurant in Hackney
136 Shoreditch High St - E1
“More hit ’n’ miss than they used to be, but still a go-to chain” – the Elliot brothers’ successful group is heading towards 20 branches in the capital, but “still producing quality dishes despite becoming quite a brand”: “lovely scorched, pillowy-based pizzas with plenty of power in the ingredients” and “reasonably priced for the quality!” Latest to launch, in June 2024, was a branch by Euston.
5. Pizza East
Pizza restaurant in Shoreditch
56 Shoreditch High St - E1
“Fun and easy-going” pizza haunt on the ground floor of Shoreditch’s iconic Tea Building with a “great atmosphere” alongside “good-quality pizza that satisfies the tastes of adults and children alike”. Opened by Soho House 15 years ago, it is now owned by Gordon Ramsay, who has opened a bar in the basement.
6. Eataly
Italian restaurant in City
135 Bishopsgate - EC2M
“Big and loud” – this 42,000 sq ft behemoth is part of Oscar Farinetti’s 40+ strong global chain showcasing Italian produce. Many folks “love wandering around and trying all the different snacks available (a great date activity!)” and there seems to be no doubt that “it provides well above-average food”; but there’s also a widespread acceptance that for a lingering meal, it’s “lacking in atmosphere”. Top eat-in option? “Bloody good pizza” with “crisp base and good toppings… why do other places find this so hard?”
