Alyn Williams has left The Wild Rabbit to focus on The Westbury

Alyn Williams has left The Wild Rabbit, his “Cotswolds gem” in Kingham. He was chef patron.

Williams has returned to London full-time in order to focus on his London restaurant, Alyn Williams at The Westbury.

The chef opened his eponymous Mayfair spot in 2011, and won a star the following year. He later won the ‘National Chef of the Year’ title, followed by four AA Rosettes.

In 2018’s guide, the restaurant suffered a dip, with cost and atmosphere largely to blame. Williams must have been recharging the restaurant for some time, however, as our latest guide features only praise – much of it hails the place as “outstanding“.

Williams said: “I’m delighted to be back at The Westbury in London full time.

“I had a brilliant time with the team at The Wild Rabbit and we’ve ended on extremely amicable terms, but London is where my heart really lies.

“I’ve got an exceptionally talented kitchen brigade at The Westbury and I’m hugely excited for this new chapter.”
