Parlour’s new sibling in Kensal Rise

Jesse Dunford Wood, the chef behind north London fixture Parlour and Six Portland Road in Holland Park, opens his third venue next week – Harvest, which is also in Kensal Rise.

He pitches the new venture as a combination of his first two, serving coffee from 8am, brunch from 9am, then a seasonal lunch and dinner menu which focuses on modern plant-based dishes, British fish, and meat sourced directly from farms.

Both Parlour and Six Portland Road are well reviewed in the 2023 Harden’s Guide, which notes their “great cooking” and “understated setting that makes clear that the food is the main attraction“.

The new restaurant can seat 35 guests inside and another 35 in a “secret” garden at the back. The walls display artworks in wrought iron by the chef’s father, Hugh Dunford Wood, which will be familiar to guests at Parlour.

Jesse trained under Rowley Leigh and Michael Caines before opening Parlour in 2012.

Harvest opens next Thursday, 4 May, at 68 Chamberlayne Road, NW10, the site of the former Bawarchi curry house.
