London’s hot dog challenge

unspecifiedHow posh can you push the humble hot dog? We’ll find out on Monday October 10, when the Charlotte Street sausages-and-champagne bar Bubbledogs hosts its first ever Hot Dog Challenge, to celebrate its fourth anniversary and raise money for charity.

A line-up of London’s hottest chefs will be taking part, including James Lowe of Lyle’s, José Pizarro, Tomos Parry from Kitty Fishers, Lee Tiernan of Black Axe Mangal and Robin Gill of The Dairy.

They’ll each have 20 minutes to whip up their own preparation of host James Knappett’s hand-rolled buns and house-recipe sausages, with a judging panel marking entries for taste, creativity, quality and appearance. The winner will stay on the menu for a month, with £1 for each sold being donated to James’s cycle round Ethiopia for Action Against Hunger.

Tickets to the event cost £15, of which £5 is also donated to the fund.
