BOXPARK to launch new concept site in Bristol

BOXPARK has confirmed its first site outside of London with the launch of sibling concept BoxHall in Bristol scheduled for summer 2022.

The group has just agreed a lease for the historic harbourside location at Welsh Back Bristol’s O&M’s sheds, which will house its first BoxHall site.

Opening in June 2022, BoxHall Bristol will be a modern food hall structure with independent street food traders and restaurant operators in Bristol.

The latest 20,000 sq.ft venture will feature seven kitchens alongside two external terraces overlooking the waterside.

BOXPARK CEO & Founder Roger Wade said: “We are thrilled to announce our brand new BoxHall concept launching in Bristol next year. It has been an incredibly difficult year but we remained optimistic during the pandemic and used the time to progress our expansion plans.

“Our team has worked extremely hard to secure our first site outside of London and this is a huge milestone for the BOXPARK family.

“Now that we’ve signed for the lease on this location, we will be working closely with Macaulay Sinclair on the interior design.

“BOXPARK has always been an innovator in the F&B industry and this new development demonstrates our investment in continuing to evolve both the brand and the sites we build and operate in.”

Tom Wilcox, from Cordwell Property Group, which is working with BOXPARK, said: “We are delighted to have signed up BoxHall for their first venture outside London,  and to have finally secured a quality Food and Beverage operator who respects the historical significance of these much valued dockside buildings and their surroundings and whose interior design proposals will complement Cordwell’s sensitive regeneration of the site to provide a unique community-based hub for the residents of Bristol.

“Our respective designers have worked hard to bring forward an imaginative yet sensitive scheme unlike any other offer in the City.

“This collaboration has allowed us to commence work in March on the refurbishment works which together with the stunning interior fitting-out to follow will deliver by June next year, one of the most exciting venues to eat, drink and enjoy the delights of this unique City location.”

Unlike BOXPARK developments which focus on placemaking and creating spaces, BoxHall sites will be located in existing buildings within town centres across the UK – most of which will be iconic sites in their respective communities with a strong history and cultural heritage.

BoxHall is part of the group’s wider expansion plans to roll out a mixture of sites both inside and outside of London.
