Padella makes its West End debut

Handmade pasta specialist Padella will next week open its first West End branch – and third overall – in Soho, almost exactly 10 years after founders Jordan Frieda and Tim Siadatan (pictured) unveiled the original venue in Borough Market.

The pair say, “We have always felt the energy of Soho was a perfect fit for Padella, and we’ve spent a long time looking for the right space.”

The new branch, which opens on Thursday 16 April in Kingly Street, has a main dining room at ground level with more seating and a private dining room for up to 22 guests in the basement, plus some outdoor tables.

The original site, well-known for its window display of chefs manipulating pasta dough, set a new standard for ultra-fresh Italian cuisine at affordable prices, and attracted long queues from pretty well day one. Remarkably, standards have not slipped in the ensuing decade, with Padella (including its second branch in Shoreditch) achieving some of its best-ever ratings in the 2026 Harden’s guide – including a 5/5 score for food.

Such is their confidence that the website for the new Soho branch explains how to join the ‘virtual queue’ for a table, either through a QR code at the door or remotely via the Dojo app. Bookings are available for parties of 7 or more.
