WritingOnTheWallsOfTheCanvas_LondonsFirstHappyCafe_04:03:15Billing itself as London’s first ‘Happy Café’, The Canvas in Shoreditch has relaunched as a place for city dwellers to ‘seek comfort’ (as well as yoga classes, documentary screenings, courses, workshops… and even food). Originally founded by Ruth Rogers in October last year, The Canvas has teamed up with Action for Happiness charity to host events and workshops aimed at improving confidence, self-esteem and well-being in the capital.

It is London’s first cafe to be supported by Action for Happiness as a space for Londoners to explore what matters for a happy and meaningful life. Catch inspirational TED Talks on Tuesdays; yoga classes on Wednesdays; free weekend screenings of documentaries in The

Canvas’ basement cinema; a free ‘Happiness Boosters’ workshop run by the charity Inner Space, and an 8-week course in Happiness, commencing this month run by Action for Happiness.

The first Happy Café was launched in Brighton in October 2014. The Canvas is supported by Investec as part of its Beyond Business Programme in partnership with Bromley by Bow Centre. It is a programme that launches and aids social enterprises from budding entrepreneurs in Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham.
