Mexican Restaurants in Brighton
1. La Choza Mexican restaurant in Brighton 36 Gloucester Rd - BN1
Decked out with neon lights, graffiti, sugar skulls and vivid flowers, this ten-year-old cantina has also spawned a (larger) Hove spin-off. Such feedback as we have says its “great value, with really enjoyable food” – more reports please!
2. Wahaca Mexican restaurant in Brighton 160-161 North Street - BN1
“A fun, cheerful Mexican atmosphere” and “enjoyable, fresh tasting” street food dishes can still make “an excellent standby” of this stalwart chain, which has 10 sites in London nowadays. “Even if nothing on the menu is going to wow, its consistent quality and value are reassuring”, with ratings and popularity starting to regain their historic high standing since a majority stake was sold to Nando’s owner, Dick Enthoven, a couple of years ago.
3. La Choza Hove Mexican restaurant in Brighton Western Road - BN1
2019 Review: “Fun Mexican, a notch above nearby chains” – this two-storey Hove newcomer is larger than its six-year-old sibling on Gloucester Road in North Laine, and also takes bookings (at the original it’s just for larger parties). You can also just roll up for drinks here (there’s an extensive mescal list).
