With its candlelit communal high tables, eating at this Lanes oyster bar is a “unique experience”, combining “great decor and ambience”, “brilliantly fresh fish and seafood” and “attentive staff”. (There’s nowadays a spinoff venue in the arches along the beach promenade – see also).
“Perhaps the freshest fish restaurant in Brighton” – this communal Lanes venture offers “a unique experience where you share a table” with “other random diners” (making “for fun evenings” for more than one reporter). “Food and wine are just delicious” and there’s always a “great buzz”.
“Oyster, crab and fish pie are unbeatable” at this communal fish and seafood spot in The Lanes (nowadays less well-known than its beachside offshoot). “The catch of the day is always a good choice.”
“Super crab salad” and other “lovely” seafood dishes inspire nothing but high praise for this popular, communal-eating destination – the candlelit Lanes original of what now has a sister operation (see also its beachside offshoot).
Our original Brighton Lanes Oyster Bar is lit by candlelight and features tiled walls and high tables and stools. You will be seated side-by-side, allowing for a focus on casual dining and ambiance. We have fresh daily specials and catch of the day on offer. Our open kitchen adds to the experience of The Lanes, allowing you to watch your food being prepared. Our marble topped tables act as the perfect setting for grazing on local seafood and enjoying a chilled glass of Champagne. Strictly no reservations.
Our private dining room at Riddle and Finns on the beach offers a unique dining experience for a celebration, birthday or business lunch.
We can seat up to 14 guests on our elegant marble dining table and have created three specially designed set menus for larger parties. We also have the opportunity to tailor bespoke menus to your tastes, if there are any Riddle and Finns favourites you would like to include.
