A gastronomic trip to the south of France? That’ll be £5,650 please

Here’s a mouth-watering event with an eye-watering price tag. Rosemary Shrager – a one-time Pierre Koffman protégée-turned-celebrity-chef, by way of the ITV jungle – is hosting a week-long ‘celebration of food and wine’ at Château Lou Casteou on the Côte d’Azur, costing £5,650 per couple.

Mind you, that does include a six-night stay at the luxury residence, as well as cookery courses with Rosemary and head chef John Rogers. Taking place 11-17 October this year, this gastronomic pilgrimage invites guests to take part in food and wine pairings, a Fortville Market visit, trips to vineyards and an olive oil farm, butchery and BBQ masterclasses and more, all punctuated by three course dinners and fine dining lunches.

For those concerned about what such a holiday might do to their waistline, there are daily fitness sessions.
