Levi Roots has closed his Caribbean smokehouse

Levi Roots, of Reggae Reggae Sauce fame, has announced the closure of his East London BBQ restaurant.

The one-time Dragons’ Den star, musician, TV chef, and cookbook author opened Levi Roots’ Caribbean Smokehouse in Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in 2015.

But on Tuesday, he said on social media: “So sorry! Unfortunately I have to announce my restaurant is closing today! most dreadful thing is letting down my brilliant team, tried my utter most to avoid this but the party is over and all good things come to and end. So sorry to the customers too.”

Roots’s former restaurant, Papine Jerk Centre in Battersea, opened in 2007, and ran until 2013.
