GjlhR8T3Robin Gill, the chef behind The Manor in Clapham – much lauded by Ms Maschler (among others) – and its deli The Dairy, is set to head east to Bethnal Green with a new restaurant under the railway arches. Paradise Garage will open this weekend with a soft launch offer of 25% off the total bill Friday 17-Sunday 19 July.

Gill’s latest venture takes a space next to other foodie faves Mission (a new wine bar from the Sager + Wilde folks), Resident of Paradise Row and Mother Kelly’s.

Gill plans to run the kitchen himself for a while before handing over the reigns to a new head chef, yet to be announced. There will be tasting menus with wine pairings, provided by Tutto wines.

On the menu: barbequed sardines, sea greens, tomato & horseradish; lamb rump, sweetbreads, summer cabbage, peas & marjoram; and beer Salumi by Simon Woodrow; as well as a feasting picnic for the table focused on rabbit.

There will also be the obligatory open kitchen with chef’s counter dining for up to eight people.
