Reubens, the kosher restaurant in the West End, has closed after 46 years

Reubens, the West End’s only fully kosher restaurant, has closed after 46 years.

A statement issued on Tuesday said the Baker Street restaurant would be closing due to a family bereavement.

“With a heavy heart, unexpectedly we have had to close due to a family bereavement,” said the message.

“We are proud of the 46 years Reubens has served the community.

“Our family have proudly run the business for over 37 years. We wish all our customers and friends the best wishes. Thank you for your custom and good memories we have all shared! Love from all the Reuben family.”

Reubens opened in 1973 and was originally situated in more characterful premises in Soho. It moved to its current site in 1995.
