Restaurant group Prescott & Conran’s (behind The Boundary & Albion) have relaunched faithful old theatre standby Les Deux Salons with a brand new look. For those of our reporters who felt the place had “gone downhill” of late this will be a welcome piece of news.

Staying true to its roots, Prescott & Conran have dedicated the first floor of the Covent Garden site to a classic French restaurant and private dining room, while the ground floor will boast an all-day café, bistro, bar, épicerie and cave à vin.

Sir Terence Conran himself has designed the restaurant (just imagine that, dear reader) and artworks from Terence and Vicki Conran’s private collection will be on display throughout (oh, they do spoil us!).

The food sounds as though it will be very Gallic indeed with head chef Barry Tonks (anything to Mitch we wonder?) borrows a few recipes from the annals of Cuisine Bourgeoise. Les Deux Salons reopened on 9 June.
