British, Modern Restaurants in Stockport
1. Where The Light Gets In British, Modern restaurant in Stockport 7 Rostron Row - SK1
“Just phenomenal – the tasting menu is sublime and the wine pairing so well matched” at Sam Buckley’s “relaxing but luxurious” set-up in an old, Victorian brick-walled warehouse. There is the odd gripe that the hipster succession of numerous bite-sized dishes – often using produce from their own farm – is on the pricey side, but all reports acknowledge the “amazing tastes and ideas” the experience delivers, while “the service is just wonderful – you’re made to feel important as soon as you walk in the door”.
2. Damson British, Modern restaurant in Stockport 113 Heaton Moor Rd - SK4
2017 Review: It’s all-change at this “relaxed and easygoing” Heaton Moor spot, which recently lost its newer Media City sibling, and where half of these premises are – since autumn 2016 – now surfing the tapas trend, and branded La Cantina. Half the site still trades, however, as this “favourite of many years”, and we’ve rated it for its “high standards maintained over time, friendly service and good seasonal menu”.
3. Brassica Grill British, Modern restaurant in Stockport 27 Shaw Rd - SK4
2017 Review: Paul Faulkner (ex-Albert Square Chop House) has a hit on his hands with this “lovely” yearling, in an “unexpected location” in suburban Heaton Moor. It wins praise for its “excellent cooking” from a “small menu of seasonal produce”, plus a “great (Med-style) ambience”.
