Middle Eastern Restaurants in Shoreditch
1. Le Bab
Middle Eastern restaurant in Hackney
231 Old Street - EC1V
“Wow!! Tasty or what?” This upscale kebab group has expanded from its well-known Kingly Court base, and been busy during the pandemic with a couple of new openings. In May 2021 they opened both a new café in a funky Dalston coworking space (part of a new aparthotel from Locke) and a retro, old-school kebab shop in the heart of Old Street, open till the wee hours. “You can’t really fault the food and it’s at a very good price. It’s a nice place too, relaxed but well managed”. See also Kebab Queen.
2. Delamina East
Middle Eastern restaurant in Shoreditch
151 Commercial Street - E1
“Really interesting food combinations from the Levant” make self-taught chef Limor Chen and husband Amir’s stripped-down Shoreditch and Marylebone venues worthwhile additions to London’s “Middle East-with-a-twist” dining scene. It’s “another of the small-plate trends with the now-familiar land, sea, earth menu – but packed with flavour”. A natural choice for veggies and vegans, too.
3. Pilpel
Middle Eastern restaurant in Spitalfields
38 Brushfield Street, London - E1
2019 Review: “Pittas of pleasure” – “Mediterranean/Israeli street food of the best type (vegetarian, fresh and bursting with taste)” – keep office workers healthy and happy at these City-based “pitstops”. “No wonder there’s always a queue at lunchtime.”
