‘We’re the best-fed supporters in the land…’

Fulham Football Club have signed three more top chefs to boost the match-day culinary offering at Craven Cottage – although team manager Marco Silva would doubtless prefer three new players for his football squad.

The latest additions to the club’s high-powered line-up of chefs are Sally Abe, Judy Joo and Ben Murphy, who have joined Alex Dilling and Oli Marlow on their rotating bench of kitchen maestros. Adam Byatt of Trinity in Clapham is a more permanent signing, with the opening of his brasserie Constance at the stadium.

The elite gastro moves are all part of the towering £100million Riverside stand that has been added to the stadium in the last couple of years. With its luxurious members’ club and restaurants, the stand beside the Thames is probably the best place to eat at a football ground in Britain. But Fulham have some way to go before knocking Copenhagen’s Geranium off its perch as the ultimate football restaurant: set in the Danish capital’s Parken stadium, Geranium was declared No 1 in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards in 2022.

Fulham supporters have waiting in vain this summer for news of player signings to boost their chances of a successful season in the Premier League.
