It seems as though London’s love of all things American is seeping out into the home counties. Chop Bloc, a US-style steakhouse and cocktail bar, is set to launch in Chelmsford, Essex, early next month. To celebrate the opening, diners can enjoy 50 per cent off all food from 2-6 February.
Brought to us by brothers Steve and Dave Patten – sons of Colin Patten (The Worshipful Company of Butchers) – it is perhaps no surprise that Chop Bloc heavily features meat. Diners can choose from cuts of beef, sold by the gram, including bone-in cuts aged and chopped on site. Staying true to its American roots Chop Bloc’s menu also features burgers, cheesecake and chocolate brownies.
The 200-cover restaurant and ‘Manhattan-style’ bar is spread over three floors, housed within an 18th century former brewery.
