RG2907-polpo-p-intRussell Norman’s Venetian-influenced small plates empire, Polpo, expands ever onward as he announces new sites in Harvey Nics London and Leeds.

Polpo Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge is due to launch first on 8 February, taking a space on the luxury department store’s fifth floor, which is already home to Scott Hallsworth’s Japanese izakaya Kurobuta. Despite being situated within one of London’s most expensive retailers and catering to the very well-heeled, Norman says his Polpo outposts will still exude the “renowned charm of the humble bacaro”.

The Leeds site will open later in the month on 26 February on the fourth floor of Harvey Nics.

A menu of small plates will be available, including: Zucchini arancini; fig and prosciutto crostini; cod cheeks with lentils and salsa verde; pizzetta with spicy pork and pickled peppers; deep fried polenta-crusted meatballs; sliced flank steak with porcini; flourless chocolate & hazelnut cake; and blackberry panna cotta.
