A new bar & grill backed by restaurateur Kurt Zdesar (of Chotto Matte fame) arrives in the heart of Mayfair later this month. Black Roe Poke Bar & Grill will specialise in raw fish with a Pacific slant alongside other fresh seafood and oysters, as well as wood grilled meats.
Its crowning glory will be a Poke (Hawaiian marinated raw fish) bar at the entrance, where an expert chef prepares this traditional dish.
Also on the menu: Kiawe wood grilled, sustainable meats, including Bison rib eye steak, fennel-tomato confit & yuzu soy hollandaise and Smokey lamb rack, coconut & piquillio reduction.
Cocktails and a wide selection of wines by the glass will be served at the bar, and the 60-cover restaurant also vaunts a chef’s table downstairs with room for 20 guests. The table is centred around the open kitchen and lined by tanks filled with the freshest live seafood. When not booked for private events it is available as a communal table for walk-ins.
