The duo behind Italian-inspired restaurant Legare at Shad Thames near Tower Bridge have opened a new wine bar, bottle shop and restaurant almost next door called Luna.
Former Barrafina manager Jay Patel (left in picture) and ex-Trullo chef Matt Beardmore (right) have earned a strong reputation in the six years since they opened Legare, which is hailed as a “little gem” in the 2025 Harden’s guide.
Luna offers a short menu of Spanish-leaning Mediterranean dishes and a wine list including a range of natural wines – the name apparently refers to the influence of lunar cycles on viticulture.
Walk-ins are welcomed, but anybody booking should make sure they don’t confuse Luna with the Japanese omakase of the same name that opened within Los Mochis Mexican/Japanese restaurant in the City earlier this year.
