Pay what you want (for one week only)

An unusual “pay what you like” policy will be in place for the soft opening of a new restaurant in Victoria later this month.

Rail House Café is the new venue from the team behind Fitzrovia’s Riding House Café and Village East in Bermondsey – both praised for their “lively atmosphere” in the latest Harden’s Survey. It will be one of the first dining venues to open in the new Nova development in front of Victoria Station, which will have 17 restaurants and three pop-ups.

The “honesty” payment offer – you pay what you consider fair for your food – will be in place from Monday February 27 to Friday March 3. All drinks will be charged as usual.

Bookings are available now, and the restaurant will also accept walk-ins. It will be open from breakfast to dinner, with signature dishes including the “burgerdict” – a cross between a burger and eggs Benedict – sea bass ceviche and chargrilled octopus.
