Turkish Restaurants in Marylebone
1. Ishtar Turkish restaurant in Marylebone 10-12 Crawford St - W1
The “high-quality Turkish cooking” at this “very welcoming” Marylebone fixture has been “remarkably consistent for a few years now”. Top Tip: “exceptional grilled lamb cutlets”.
2. Yamabahce Turkish restaurant in Marylebone 26 James Street - W1U
Serial entrepreneur Alan Yau is having another crack at a Turkish pide (flatbread) concept with this white-tiled café with large central oven in a cute enclave off Oxford Street (which opened in late 2017). Early feedback is limited and not impressive – is this going to go the same way as his 2016 attempt, Babaji Pide, which started well, but has now gone down the tubes?
4. Yosma Turkish restaurant in Marylebone 50 Baker Street - W1
A new mangal and raki bar, influenced by traditional Turkish meyhanes (taverns) arrives on Baker Street in August 2016. Exec chef Hus Vedat has Turkish heritage but has worked in kitchens across London at the likes of Barbacoa, Caxton Grill and Ceviche Old Street. Expect traditional coal-roasted meats, raki-based cocktails, Turkish wines and beer.
