The new Holmes Hotel restaurant offers ll-day dining from head chef Stefano Motto (Thu-Sun only, bar food on other days).

Owner's description

Kitchen at Holmes is a seasonally inspired all-day dining restaurant and bar now open on the iconic Baker Street.

Our Head Chef Stefano Motta has crafted a diverse menu creating the perfect blend between some of the best seasonal produce as well as delivering dishes using international influences and techniques. The restaurant area offers an open kitchen concept, allowing guests to witness Motta’s creations being prepared. The menu is made to be shared, with a wide selection of small and large dishes to choose from. Start with a round of small plates like our Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare served with avocado, wasabi & ponzu, Red Prawns Carpaccio topped with Oscietra caviar and our melt in the mouth Ibérico Bellota 5 J paired with a crispy Pan de cristal. Follow on with a tender Wagyu Rump Steak, our fresh Dover Sole or indulge in a hearty Sunday roast and choose from British reared rib-eye steak, lamb or chicken.

Sitting alongside the restaurant is the bar, housing a large array of whimsical, creative cocktails and carefully curated spirits and wine, as well as a selection of bar snacks and nibbles. The bar offers a laid-back and chilled atmosphere with a live DJ every Monday to Friday from 6pm. Sit back and unwind with a Sherlock & Sons G&T or try our Sherlock’s Pipe! Affectionately inspired by the famous detective, this curious concoction is served in a glass pipe infused with a mist of Applewood scented smoke.

Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Kitchen at Holmes is the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or to catch up with friends over cocktails on our outside terrace (perfect for the Summer months).

Our reviews are based on an annual survey of ordinary diners which runs in Spring each year. But this establishment has not yet gathered enough feedback for our editors to write it up.

Do you think it deserves to be better known?

Write a quick review now using our restaurant diary service. That way it might catch our attention. Next survey, you can transfer your diary entry into our survey system. Everyone who contributes 5 or more reviews in our survey will qualify for a free guide.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
