“A wonderful glass ceiling over palm trees” within a soaring, eight-storey atrium creates one of London’s loveliest (and most Instagrammed) spaces: the heart of a plush hotel near Marylebone station (which is currently celebrating its 125th anniversary). “All afternoon teas in London have extortionately doubled in price in the last few years, but this one sort-of deserves it, as all dishes are high quality, they refill unlike at some others” and “there’s no rush to be out for the next sitting to come in”. You can also breakfast and lunch here, but these occasions inspire little feedback.

“Wonderful afternoon tea in a huge glass-roof covered area with palm trees” is the big hit at “beautiful” Palm Court: a hotel atrium, eight storeys tall near Marylebone station (and one of London’s more Instagrammed spaces). Not a bad spot for a business (or romantic) meal: the food – served from breakfast through to dinner – is uniformly well rated, and even those who feel it’s “absurdly expensive” say “it was worth it to see the atrium!”

“The most stunning venue, full of palm trees under a high glass roof”, makes this eight-storey hotel atrium the perfect setting for brunch or an “excellent afternoon tea”. “The pastries are wonderful” and there’s a “fantastic choice of breakfast dishes” – but the real treat is the “superb ambience” created by one of London’s most Insta-friendly spaces.

The stunning, glass-roofed, eight-storey atrium, complete with mature palm trees, makes a “fantastic setting” for daytime meals at this Marylebone hotel – particularly the “exquisite” afternoon tea. Breakfast is highly rated, too – “so much choice, and hot dishes made to order”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
