1. Corse Lawn Hotel British, Traditional restaurant in Corse Lawn
The Hine family’s long-established country house hotel has a scenic location, occupying a rural Queen Anne house next to a duck pond. Baba Hine, la patronne of 40 years standing, still cooks breakfast and her son Giles nowadays presides over the cellar established by her late husband Denis. The restaurant is old-fashioned in design, although its traditional cooking (with Chris Exley nowadays at the stoves) has somewhat moved with the times. Feedback was limited last year, and hence we’ve held off on a rating.
2. The White Hart Royal Hotel British, Traditional restaurant in Moreton-in-Marsh High Street - GL56
2018 Review: Fine old Cotswolds coaching inn with attractive courtyard in the heart of this chocolate box town; it doesn’t aim for culinary fireworks but serves “good, solid pub grub” in its restaurant and ‘Snug Bar’.
3. The Ebrington Arms British, Traditional restaurant in Chipping Campden
2018 Review: This quintessential village pub (now with rooms) has kept locals in their cups since the 1640s; currently under the same owners as Killingsworth Castle, it delivers “good, honest pub food cooked with some flair”, plus “excellent ales” from the owners’ micro-brewery.
