Summary
“Always delicious Indian fine-dining” has established Prithvi – Sanskrit for ‘Mother Earth’ – as a “superb choice for a special occasion”. Summary
“Clever, well-imagined” and “delicately spiced food, unlike any normal Indian restaurant” distinguishes this “superb” venue, named after the Skanskrit for ‘Mother Earth’. Opened in 2012, it has now moved house into a “much more elegant setting” opposite Pittville Park. Top Tip: “a relative bargain for lunch”.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Prithvi Restaurant Diner Reviews

"Rather a disappointing visit. Though the food was elegantly presented it was seriously over spiced (scallops starter) or underpowered (ox cheek main). Service was mixed - generally professional, but one supercilious staff member grated. The room is actually spacious enough but the design makes it feel rather crowded and oppressive. Perhaps this was a bad day but I'm not tempted to return; Bhoomi offers food at least as good (if a little less ambitious), in slightly pleasanter surroundings with consistently delightful service - all at considerably lower cost!"
