A new chain of steak and lobster restaurants has opened its £1 million flagship… in Southend-on-Sea. Why sunny Southend? Bourgee – sold as a luxury yet affordable dining experience – is headed up by chef and restaurateur Mark Baumann, of leading local restaurant Baumann’s Brasserie. Coggeshall. Southend’s regeneration was apparently also a major attraction.
The wincemakingly-described ‘Steak-Lobster-Luxe Lounge’, opened on the town’s famous seafront Esplanade, with further sites planned for 2015.
