The Pond opens in Dalston

A new Hawaiian restaurant in Dalston has seemingly done the impossible. It has managed to open its doors without a single pineapple burger or pizza on the menu.

The Pond, brought to us by the chaps behind Beavertown Brewery and Duke’s Brew & Que, is housed within an old warehouse. The menu, which – attention Sustainable Restaurant Association! – uses produce sourced from several Pacific countries, is fish-heavy but with some meat and veggie dishes too. It’s something the owners are touting as ‘new Hawaiian’ cuisine, a fusion of Pacific and Asian flavours, so don’t be surprise to find sushi on the menu as well as smokey beef ribs and whole catfish.
