porters restaurant for cocktails

In January this year Porters in Covent Garden, perhaps better known for its “excellent pies” and “good-value” deals than its culinary offering (dubbed “stodgy” by some), closed for good. But now we hear it is to be reborn in a more arboreal setting as owner Richard (the Earl of) Bradford relaunches the restaurant in Berkhamsted this month.

Porters has found a new home on the High Street of this Hertfordshire market town and will officially open in mid- May. The restaurant will continue its Captain Porters Pie & Mash venture – a catering truck in an ex-MOD lorry, which helps raise funds for Help for Heroes.
