Lords call for action on food waste

Peers have also called on retailers to be ‘more responsible’ and do away with ‘buy one get on free’ offers that lead to food waste at home. Supermarkets have been asked not to waste unsold food and may even be incentivised to use food banks through tax breaks and VAT rate amendments.
