Middle Eastern flavours with Mr Lyan cocktails to match

An ambitious new Middle Eastern restaurant with cocktails from Mr Lyan Studio has opened in St Christopher’s Place, just off Oxford Street in London’s West End. Noreen, from Bahrain’s long-established Al Abraaj restaurant group, showcases dishes from the Arabian peninsula to the Levant.

Mehdi Hani, head chef at Harrods for the past four years, has produced a menu that features fresh flatbreads, grilled meats and slow-cooked dishes from the tannour oven and minqala grill .

For the drinks, cocktail guru Ryan Chetiyawardana’s Mr Lyan Studio has created a selection of cocktails based on the spirit arak, along with cocktails using ingredients like hibiscus, za’atar, black lime and tahini. Ryan says: “We’ve always loved introducing guests to new flavours and doing so regardless of whether they are in an alcoholic or non-alcoholic form.”

The wine list has a selection of bottles from the Lebanon, Turkey and the eastern Mediterranean region.
