Go to work on an (ostrich) egg

Do you like your eggs over-easy or overwhelming? If the latter, try the whole ostrich egg fried or scrambled for four or more to share at Florentine, a new all-day restaurant in Lambeth.

Open every day from 7am to 11pm (10pm on Sundays), Florentine specialises in freshly baked flatbreads from the open oven with contemporary toppings, sharing plates, and slow-roast meats at the weekend. There is also a more modest egg special – shakshouka with duck eggs.

The drinks menu features cocktails, craft beers and wines including English sparklers from Camel Valley (Cornwall) and Chapel Down (Kent), with live music and DJs in the evenings from Thursday to Saturday.

Florentine is behind Waterloo station, opposite the entrance to Lambeth North tube. Diners can book for the 50% off soft-opening offer from March 23 to 26.
