New-wave Shoreditch wine bar Oranj is moving into larger new premises next week, with an outdoor kitchen and dining terrace.
The new venue, in pedestrianised Dray Walk, is five minutes’ walk from the original site in Bacon Street near Brick Lane – which the current Harden’s guide notes is “very buzzy” and “usually packed”, but where Oranj admits it has been “struggling with the limitations of the space“.
Launched in 2022, Oranj is one of the most prominent wine bars to focus on low-intervention and natural wines from independent producers.
The resident guest chef for the first five weeks is Yuto Fujimoto, formerly of Cadeau in Copenhagen, who is returning after a successful residency earlier this year.
“Yuto is without a doubt one of our all-time favourite guest chefs. We simply had to have him back, and there’s no one better to kick things off in our new home,” Oranj said in a social media post.
