Featured Emsworth Restaurants
1. 36 on the Quay
British, Modern restaurant in Emsworth
47 South St - PO10
With “boats bobbing outside”, this “lovely small restaurant with rooms on Emsworth harbour” (complete “with a gorgeous sheltered courtyard”) “feels like being welcomed into someone’s home”. A fixture for more than 20 years, it is now run by chef Gary Pearce (who joined the kitchen as a teenager before working at Le Champignon Sauvage) and his wife Martina – under whom ratings have risen for a second successive year.
2. Fat Olives
British, Modern restaurant in Emsworth
30 South St - PO10
“Reliably superb, locally sourced” cooking induces many locals to “return regularly” to Lawrence & Julia Murphy’s “small and friendly” favourite – a converted cottage on the main road running up from the quay, which celebrated its twentieth year in 2020. One or two reporters last year, however, couldn’t see what the fuss was about.
3. The Deck
British, Modern restaurant in Emsworth
Emsworth Marina, Thorney Road - PO10
Taken over – and later expanded – by twenty-something sailor-chef Ed Collison three years ago, this “lovely restaurant in Emsworth yacht basin” turns out a “great breakfast” but is also a “favourite lunchtime venue on a sunny afternoon (they’re open Friday and Saturday evenings too)”.
