Harden's survey result
Summary
Limited but upbeat feedback this year on this tiny Cotswolds dining room, in the converted first floor of a house, where a maximum of 11 can be seated at once. “Each taster-course is lovingly prepared and served by Mark the owner. The setting is small and intimate, sit at the counter if it’s just the two of you”.
Summary
“It’s a lovely experience, sitting at the kitchen counter watching chef Mark Ramshaw (almost) single-handedly prepare dinner for the dozen covers in this tiny Cotswold dining room”. “The tasting menu is delicious” – nine courses for £85 per person – “full of flavours and great local produce, and frankly a bargain… definitely try and grab the kitchen counter”.
Summary
Mark Ramshaw’s ‘micro-restaurant’ serves a “seriously inventive menu at a great price” to no more than 11 guests a night on just Fridays and Saturdays. “We sat at the kitchen counter and enjoyed a brilliant modern British menu, strong on local produce and full of lovely bitter-fermented-charred-umami flavour combinations. Pork, peas and pickled strawberry was a yummy main course”. It opened in June 2021, with Marina O’Loughlin of the Sunday Times an early enthusiast.
Summary
Opened in June 2021, this ‘micro-restaurant in the Cotswolds’ offers an ambitious tasting experience to no more than 11 people at a time. No feedback as yet in our annual diners’ poll, but Marina O’Loughlin of the Sunday Times paid an early visit saying: “I can’t remember the last time I had such an assured ten-course tasting menu with wines – even a martini each – where the bill didn’t cost north of a ton a head”.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Oxheart Restaurant Diner Reviews
"A truly excellent meal. One of the best I have enjoyed in a long time. Locally sourced (as far as possible) food created with care and precision throughout with some wonderful flavours. The Evenlode on Ice and the deconstructed Fish Pie the standout dishes amongst a very strong line-up. Recommended."
"Highly recommend. The head chef is very creative and interesting person. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere in beautiful Cotswold. The food is amazing and I think it has a potential to become a Michelin restaurant."
