Featured St Davids Restaurants
1. Blas Restaurant, Twr y Felin Hotel
British, Modern restaurant in St Davids
“Love this West Walian retreat!” is the tenor of all reports on this “pleasant” contemporary boutique hotel dining room, whose greige interior is hung with (over?) dramatic art. A visitor from Wimbledon notes that “service is so welcoming and different from the usual London brusque!” and the short menu of ingredient led dishes is well-rated. In early 2026, change is afoot with the January 4th to March 31st closure of the dining room for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, due to a kitchen renovation.
2. The Shed at Porthgain
Fish & seafood restaurant in Porthgain
“Eight types of fish fresh from the boat” are served at this jolly ‘fish ’n’ chip bistro’ in a Grade II-listed Victorian warehouse, left over from the fishing village’s historical role as a port for Pembrokeshire’s slate and granite industry (the relics of which dominate the cove). Owner Rob and his son Jack catch much of the fish and seafood in the waters visible from the upstairs dining room – although takeaway eating by the harbourside is a popular option. Top Menu Tip – “fantastic battered halloumi and chips”.
3. Grain
restaurant in St Davids
1 High Street - SA62
“Adore the fascinating flavour-bomb combinations” at this pizza-and-craft-beer operation from a team full of “fun and friendliness” – “the atmosphere is a bit rustic (just a covered wooden cabin), but the food is so enjoyable, it doesn’t matter in the slightest”.
4. Really Wild Emporium
restaurant in Haverfordwest
24 High Street, St Davids - SA62
Where the wild things are – this sui generis outfit was founded by couple Julia (an award-winning archaeological conservator), and John (who once sailed around Britain in a dinghy for 42 days to raise money for charity… as you do). Putting the accent on sustainability, the rustic ground floor restaurant specialises in dishes using “unusual ingredients from the wild” (currently presented through an “always good” six-course evening tasting menu), while upstairs you’ll find their Really Wild shop, stocking their own eco-friendly soaps and shampoos. For a “really fun and special (in a good way!) evening”, it’s hard to beat – and they also run foraging trips in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
