Harden's survey result
Summary
Where the wild things are – this sui generis outfit was founded by couple Julia (an award-winning archaeological conservator), and John (who once sailed around Britain in a dinghy for 42 days to raise money for charity… as you do). Putting the accent on sustainability, the rustic ground floor restaurant specialises in dishes using “unusual ingredients from the wild” (currently presented through an “always good” six-course evening tasting menu), while upstairs you’ll find their Really Wild shop, stocking their own eco-friendly soaps and shampoos. For a “really fun and special (in a good way!) evening”, it’s hard to beat – and they also run foraging trips in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
