Featured Greenwich Restaurants
1. The Guildford Arms
British, Modern restaurant in Greenwich
55 Guildford Grove - SE10
Ten minutes’ walk south of Greenwich BR, this Georgian corner tavern is more gastro than pub, with a stylishly updated interior and a “beautiful garden”. Much of the menu – for example, steak, fish, chicken skewers – is prepared on the robata grill, and is “a cut above your usual pub grub”.
2. Sticks'n'Sushi
Japanese restaurant in Greenwich
1 Nelson Road - SE10
With “clever”, “good-quality Japanese food” – in particular the “excellent, if relatively expensive, sushi” – and “busy, competent service”, these “fun, stylish and friendly” Scandi-minimal venues are “always buzzing”. Founded in Copenhagen by a pair of Danish-Japanese brothers more than 30 years ago, the company came under new ownership in 2024 with big expansion plans, and unveiled two times F1 champion Fernando Alonso as a major shareholder in April 2025. Recent London openings include a “huge new site” in Islington and Battersea Power Station.
3. Goddards At Greenwich
British, Traditional restaurant in Greenwich
22 King William Walk - SE10
“My go-to pie-and-mash shop: nuff said!” – this sizable (100 covers) family-run shop has a heritage in the area stretching back to 1890 and is one of the better purveyors of this London staple (of which about three dozen remain). You don’t have to go for the traditional mince with ‘liquor’ (eel-based parsley sauce) variety: they have vegan and other options too.
4. The Trafalgar Tavern
International restaurant in Greenwich
28 Park Row - SE10
A “fabulous riverside location” is the making of this grand 1837 tavern, where artistic and political types of the Victorian era (including Charles Dickens) would gather for famous ‘whitebait suppers’ – ‘Greenwich whitebait’ still feature on the menu (but turtle soup has long since disappeared).
