British, Traditional Restaurants in Cirencester
1. The Slaughters Manor House British, Modern restaurant in Lower Slaughter Copsehill Rd - GL54
2021 Review: Blessed with a picture-perfect village setting, this well-established hotel restaurant (nowadays under the Brownsword group) is a light, airy space whose fine dining food – afternoon tea to eight-course tasting menus – makes the most of local and foraged ingredients. It attracted limited feedback last year, but all positive.
2. Jolly Nice Farm Shop British, Traditional restaurant in Frampton Mansell The Old White Horse Filling Station, Cirencester Road - GL6
2021 Review: “An atmospheric and charming farm shop (in a converted petrol station, on the A419) serving fabulous breakfasts and lunches with very tasty hamburgers from local meat”. “It’s been great to see JN progress from offering ice cream from an airstream caravan to butcher, deli, burger bar, Xmas tree seller...” (is there anything they can’t do?!).
3. The Potting Shed British, Traditional restaurant in Crudwell The St - SN16
2021 Review: “A superb pub, part of the Rectory Hotel” opposite, and likewise revamped by music biz owner Alex Payne a few years back. Whether it’s for the “first-class Sunday lunch (if you can get in)” or the “cosy” ambiance it’s “well worth a visit” by (nearly) all accounts.
