This “beautiful little restaurant with a neighbourhood feel” in Marylebone, from chef and food writer Ravinder Bhogal, offers a “wide-ranging and ever-changing selection of consistently good dishes” inspired by her ‘no borders kitchen’ philosophy. “It’s a melange of Middle Eastern, African and Indian influences” that results in “very creative flavours – not just in the cooking but also outstanding cocktails such as a Negroni with pomegranate and rose”.

Chef and food writer Ravinder Bhogal presents her “very original, beautifully prepared” take on East African Indian cuisine in a “homely” setting in Marylebone. The odd reporter accused it of being “hyped” but most reports do nothing but enthuse about the cooking’s “inventive and surprising flavours”.

“Chef Ravinder Bhogal maintains very high standards with the delicious and inventive dishes” served at her “welcoming” Marylebone venue. She conjures up a “lovely mixture of East African and Indian cuisine” that “celebrates food memories – abundant with poetry, romance and nostalgia”. On a more earth-bound level, the restaurant is also certified as Climate Neutral.

A “delicious and interesting fusion of the familiar and unfamiliar” – and of chef Ravinder Bhogal’s mixed Indian, East African, Middle Eastern and British heritage – this Marylebone three-year-old is “always delightful”. “A quaint layout with comfy print cushions makes it feel smaller than it is”, while “staff are friendly if perhaps not always expert”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Lovely and unusual flavour combinations. The set lunch is a steal at £34 for three courses - top tip, the caramelised aubergine is amazing. "

"Succeeds in attracting meat-eaters to a veggie restaurant, which is not easy. Really inventive and original dishes. Must return to sample rest of the menu. Great value for money for lunch. "
