“Wonderful wines” – from an “amazing list, especially for Rhône Valley”, with many “excellent vintages by the glass” – top the billing at this “classy” (if “slightly cramped”) five-year-old Marylebone wine bar from Xavier Rousset, once the youngest-ever Sommelier of the Year. It’s backed up by “well-produced food with French influences and a modern twist”.

As befits a well-known wine expert, Xavier Rousset’s “buzzy” Marylebone bar has a “superbly curated selection of vintages by the glass”, but also “excellent”, straightforward Mediterranean (primarily Italian) cooking. Top Tip: “very good value set lunch for £20”.

For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
