Harden's says
Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, New York, Miami… finally – having been first announced in 2017 – as of September 2021, London now has its very own outpost for the globe-trotting brand of Nusret Gökçe’s (aka Salt Bae’s) social media sensation. He is The Park Tower hotel’s answer to breathing life into the formerly deathly dull-looking space that was for many years the accomplished but un-Instagram-friendly One-O-One (RIP). A butcher-turned-chef, this is not first choice for vegans, with a menu extending to every variety of chop, burger and steak.

Summary
Istanbul, Dubai, Doha, New York, Miami… finally – having been first announced in 2017 – London now has its very own outpost for the globe-trotting brand of Nusret Gökçe’s (aka Salt Bae’s) social media sensation. He is The Park Tower hotel’s answer to breathing life into the formerly deathly dull-looking space that was for many years the accomplished but un-Instagram-friendly One-O-One (RIP). A butcher-turned-chef, this is not first choice for vegans, with a menu extending to every variety of chop, burger and steak (some gold-plated for maximum conspicuous consumption). Early press feedback has not been kind. Despite eating a ‘shockingly good’ steak, Jimi Famurewa for The Standard branded it as ‘wasteful masochism’ to visit a ‘vibeless business lounge’ that’s ‘really quite boring’ given the ‘gleeful robbery of the prices’ – not least the menu’s ‘pointlessly gilded items (not just an £830 version of the notorious tomahawk but a £50 cappuccino).’
Summary
First announced in July 2017, this venture on Knightsbridge from social media sensation, Nusret Gökçe is The Park Tower hotel’s answer to breathing life into the deathly dull-looking space that was for many years One-O-One (RIP). Now it’s to be Salt Bae’s latest branch in a steak chain that has quickly grown to span the globe.

Summary
Former incumbent on this site, One-O-One (sadly RIP), was of rare quality, but its closure wasn’t too hard to fathom, given the hollow ambience that has always dogged this prime Knightsbridge site. Being too low-key shouldn’t be a problem for long, however, with the announcement that in late 2018 the site’s new occupant will be the London home of Turkish-butcher-turned-Instagram-sensation, Salt Bae – real name Nusret Gökçe – a new stablemate to outposts in Miami and New York, as well as in the Middle East.
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
